I decided to specialize in internal medicine because internal medicine allows and demands long-term relationships with patients that I find both rewarding and challenging.
I grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. After completing an undergraduate degree in engineering, I received my medical school training and residency at Vanderbilt Medical School in Nashville, Tennessee.
I have been practicing medicine as a board-certified internist in Raleigh since 1979. I enjoy seeing a variety of illnesses and try to emphasize disease prevention.
I am a member of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church. I enjoy sailboat racing, playing the piano, singing in the church choir, and visiting the NC Museum of Art.
Many may not realize that I also have two dogs who are agility champions!
