Internal medicine is a stimulating field that touches upon many different disciplines. Every day I utilize my knowledge of a variety of medical specialties from orthopaedics to gynecology, treating a wide variety of conditions.
I particularly enjoy internal medicine’s emphasis on the prevention and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. It can be very disheartening to face chronic health conditions and I try very hard to encourage patients who are facing those challenges.
I believe primary care medicine is the perfect blend of science and the humanities. I enjoy working with people and I chose a career in medicine because I wanted to have a service-oriented job where I could make a difference in the lives of patients.
I’m a Raleigh native, and after I completed my internal medicine residency at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York City, I returned to NC. I am board-certified in internal medicine and joined Raleigh Adult Medicine in 2001.
I am married with two children and I enjoy spending time with my family and participating in outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, paddling, and gardening.
I have several pets, two cats and ten chickens!
